Doors in Walls

The future is here, the resolve’s afoot, time to see what is before us, under microscope and light. It is not that we are lost, but building the unknown, towards a future of possibilities, necessity and hope. We know who we are, what we have done and can do, as we shift the present into a new frontier.

“The sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.” Carl Jung

There are many new materials to replace the old and new ideals from which to think. Possibility is here, we can either be a part of it or move aside and let others own our destiny. Change is happening with or without us, as meaning and purpose rise. Carl Jung once wrote, “the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.”, this we have forgotten, as we dig our way forward, under the weight of who we think we are.

We are the essence of beauty, and have the capacity for greatness. Though beauty has its ugly side, we have choices of which to use, to be the bridge and create the new or be the wall and run in fear. We are human, fallable, we have created wars, exterminated our own kind, but continue in our determination through will and hope. Our innate kindness and creative mind will be our savior, our need to do better and be better: of gods and worms, humility and desire.

“We have great minds, great physical strength and bravado of drive.”

The future will eventually be out of our hands as time has its limits, but the present is within. We have great minds, great physical strength and bravado of drive. This created the past, and will create the future. Through backbone, imagination and language we will build new roads and neural pathways of thinking: a new humanity, much different from our own. This is born of necessity, of survival of the fittest, what the future holds and the past has born.

It is time we see the future, to accept what is. To create and nourish beauty, inspire and inform: building bridges, and doors in walls.

Flux and Flow

Within the creative endeavors is meaning and purpose, an intention that inspires, elicits better living, evokes and provokes thought and emotion. To support the creative endeavors of others is to live within change and possibility: beauty and hope.

“Here is where the interweaving of balance and life are bound, where the spiral up, meets the spiral down and meaning and purpose finds its clearest need.”

We live in a world of immediacy and demand, from which is difficult to remove ourselves. Life balance is a complicated endeavor, where work and play coexist loosely as we search for inspiration to why we do what we do. Balance does not truly exist, its more at flux and flow than static stillness, embracing what fulfills us, what inspires and what pays the bills. Here is where the interweaving of balance and life are bound, where the spiral up, meets the spiral down and meaning and purpose finds its clearest need.

“To submerge oneself in beauty, while we work and pay bills, softens the beat of the drum.”

To move within the creative realms is to see beauty, know wonder and impact the hurling future. This is how we live, where we live, what we wear and eat. What has the strongest impact on our lives is what we do, our actions and words and creative investments, both emotional and physical. To submerge oneself in beauty, while we work and pay bills, softens the beat of the drum.

Life and emotions are truly ineffable, difficult to pin down and express: a vacillating mindfield of who we are, where we are. This is where creativity has its strongest hold, its ability to express the unknown and fearful, resolve and the intuitive, hope in the face of uncertainty.

Life

What it means to live is a personal perspective, informed by history and current choices. To live fully can be travel, the joy of close family, love, and all that the creative mind brings. It can be simply to appreciate the options life gives: the few, the many.

“ Do anything, but let it produce joy.”

Walt Whitman

Life moves too quickly to overthink and give procrastination dominance, but to plan gives weight to temporal existence and time. A bit existential, but truth non the less. Walt Whitman’s quote, “ Do anything, but let it produce joy.” should be our light, as we build our maps forward.

It is easier said than done to live life to the fullest, but a worthy task none the less.

The mind often loses itself in the flow of creativity. We are lost in wonder while viewing a sunset, the complexity of a fossilized stone or the dash and dive of a dragonfly over water. Losing time in the flow of beauty is living life and seeing life, and then carrying it forward, by way of memory. “When you’re inspired by the past and you’re creative in the present,” says Axel Vervoordt, “you are part of the future.”

“This is how living life works: as origami, unfolding.”

The future does not have to be overwhelming, it depends upon how we deal with things today. What we create is manifested from what we choose to see and wrap ourselves within. We can run, of which I am good at, or we can stand determined, where I eventually end. There are options, where results derive themselves, creating our way forward and in turn, bridges. This is how living life works: as origami, unfolding.

It is easy to complicate life by adding more than what we can carry: mentally and physically. If we stop and see, we know what we are lacking and if desired, adjust. Rather than adding more to the already too much, we can decipher and edit. This is the beauty of life and creating the future, where less is more and meaning and purpose expand. To simplify life is to exemplify its beauty, to lesson the noise and pause within.

Beauty and Emotion

Often I write about surrounding oneself with beauty, but beauty fades, falls to dust and ruin. Its emotion that has the lasting impression, the lasting dent into our living.

“What is essential is invisible to the eye”

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Beauty is inspiration, the salve to our everyday. While emotion has longevity: the deepest root. This is intrinsic to creativity, the pairing of beauty and emotion.

It’s imperative that we understand this, how beauty works, and use it to our advantage. Beauty inspires the creative mind and in turn, the way we live, smoothing the edges of our everyday. Beauty can be found within everything, the mind itself is a beautiful thing.

‘We are in fact the purest reflection of beauty in who we are and our capabilities to create, love and build the future.’

Life is lived fuller with beauty, it gives more meaning and in its execution, purpose. Creating beauty is as innate as the emotion it pulls upon, going as far back as our opposable thumbs. We are in fact the purest reflection of beauty in who we are and our capabilities to create, love and build the future.

The universe itself is in constant creation, so is the earth and like wise, us. It is therefore the creation of beauty that is a natural act of self expression, and in a sense perhaps, self preservation. Beauty is the manifestation of who we are in a much bigger picture: expansive and deep as the universe and its black holes.

The Creative Cocoon

It is the why that pulls me forward, that has the deepest significance. Why we create and why we surround ourselves with beauty and all that tugs at our emotions, intellect and desires. To have does not fully satisfy me, nor to take. I give not because I’ve been given, but because I have something to share: all that encompass’ my creative mind.

Beauty is an elixir and words its vessel form. With this we add meaning and purpose, the why before the what. In this time of government unravel and future uncertainty, to cocoon is our natural instinct. To wrap and protect, circle the wagons and man the metaphorical guns.

It is this behavior of social survival that we know best, to protect our village, kinfolk and neighbor: family sought and family inherited. Through actions of instinct and intellect, we can change what we can and affect the un-turnable, this starts within our circles, expanding as ripples form.

To surround oneself with beauty is not a selfish act, but an instinct for survival, the tying of mind and emotion. At this point in time we know what the creative mind can do, or should, as it fortifies our realm of living, inspiring through the elements of design and the power of mind and hand.

We are constantly turning a corner in time, and with the creative mind, action and intellect each corner need not be surprising. We have the ability to create change, to resolve and counter: to cocoon and protect our shining light.
