September 30, 2023 Carl Barnett

Image | Carl Barnett Design Studio

Through the creative endeavor, we thrive in the moment, by way of art, design, and language, easing and inspiring our human experience. It is through the creative mind, that we resolve the difficulties before us with intention and our intuitive draw toward beauty.

The Manifestation Of Beauty

September 21, 2023 Carl Barnett

Image | Carl Barnett

We are each, the manifestation of beauty, born from the stars and burdened by the trials of being human. It is beauty that soothes our ills, the salve that makes us better, or at least makes us feel as if, better. The beauty of the hand-created separates us for a moment from the trials and errors of daily life.

Living With Art

NOURISH Gallery | Kathryn Robinson-Millen

Why we create and collect speaks to our need for meaning and purpose, to our intuitive draw toward beauty, wonder and curiosity. The creative endeavor is a mirror and salve to who we are and how we live, our challenges of being human, the perfectly imperfect and beauty.

The Sculptures Of Jon Barlow Hudson

September 13, 2023 Carl Barnett

NOURISH Gallery | Jon Barlow Hudson

Nature and the hand-created are reflections of who we are. They are storytellers and salves, easing informing and offering meaning. The scale and reach of equanimous meaning.

Jon Barlow Hudson is a contemporary sculptor working with various natural stones and metals. His site-specific work has been placed in twenty-three countries around the world. The work is influenced by Ancient Chinese jade ritual objects and time-space continuum, and the teachings of Zen Buddhism and Tai Chi. These sculptures are a conversation between us and nature, the physical and the ephemeral: body, mind, time, space, and mark-making. Who we are and becoming.
